Facilitated by Dr Kate Silvester, this is the second in a series of five half day virtual workshops, designed to introduce delegates to the skills for improving flow through Outpatient clinics and services. Delegates will leave with a combination of theory, practical exercises and examples so that they can ‘give it a go’ in their own service. All Outpatient service managers and information analytics staff should attend. This second masterclass concentrates on the data trap. How can we be certain that the data we have about our Outpatient demand, activity waiting lists and waiting times are correct and that our service management reports truly reflect this? How do we prevent patients ‘being lost’ or ‘suddenly appearing’, requiring clinics to be overbooked at short notice?
Discount for attending all five half day Outpatient masterclasses: £195+ VAT per masterclass or, £750+VAT for all five.
Key Learning Objectives:
- recognising the ubiquitous data errors that underlie many NHS service management reports
- why patients get lost and why patients ‘suddenly appear’ and require clinics to be overbooked at short notice
- how to specify the reporting window and the underlying data window correctly
- how to recognise the common patterns in the resulting Vitals Charts®
