Nurse Prescribing of controlled drugs in the UK is a carefully regulated practice designed to ensure patient safety while allowing nurses to prescribe specific controlled drugs where it is clinically appropriate and within their professional competence. This conference focuses on the effective prescribing and governance of controlled drugs by Nurse Prescribers. The CQC have identified non medical prescribing of controlled drugs as a growing area, and therefore is it important to ensure that the practice is safe, effective, and accountable. The conference will focus on developing the role and skills of nurse prescribers in the prescribing of controlled drugs to build confidence, competence and compliance with the regulations.
