Join us for this full day masterclass to ensure that you are fulfilling your role as a staff member in relation to safeguarding, as well as in your leadership and managerial position.
This masterclass draws on clinical and professional knowledge and expertise of what constitutes adult abuse, harm, or neglect to support others in fulfilling their adult safeguarding duties.
During this full day Masterclass our expert trainer will guide you through the essentials in level 3 adult safeguarding in care homes. You will come away empowered to oversee safeguarding in your setting. You will cover safeguarding updates to legislation and guidance as well as advanced topics such as multiagency working, understanding case reviews and appropriate information sharing.
KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Ensure that their knowledge of legislation and current trends in safeguarding is up to date
- Have a full understanding of their role in safeguarding as a member of staff
- Understand their role in both leadership and managerial responsibilities in relation to safeguarding, including Mental Capacity Act responsibilities, DoLS and restrictive practices
- Have gained key information regarding reporting concerns, and the conduct of adult protection investigations
- Know how to prepare for, and participate in, adult protection case conferences
- Be aware of methods for liaising proactively with all statutory bodies in relation to adult protection

Tina has significant experience of working in both the private and public sector in a variety of roles including; as a regional and national CQC inspector working with a range of 7 different regulators including OFSTED, HMI Prison inspectorate. Prior to this Tina had a range healthcare positions in both operational and in several strategic director level posts. Tina held a Nurse Fellowship post at the RCN, as well as being in the NHS in a large acute trust the Assistant Director of Training and Development and then an Assistant Director of Patient and Nursing Services. She set up her own Company ECLM Ltd - coaching, leadership and management development company which also provides health and social care training and development, business turn around mock CQC style inspections/audits of children and young people services, investigations into poor performing staff and external consultant on professional performance and disciplinary panels/investigations. Contracts with NHS England and local NHS England commissioners to deliver a wide range of national safeguarding workshops, safeguarding leadership courses and supervision. The company has expanded to include health and social care and children and young people workforce assessors, CPD for registered managers, and has associate auditors and trainers including trainers for safeguarding, and Mental Capacity Act trainers, clinical skills, moving and handling, health and safety and food hygiene training, leadership and management courses, statement and witness statement writing. Tina works as an independent expert witness for providers at both tribunals and judicial reviews for providers challenging CQC.
