A half day course looking at the criminal aspects of healthcare law, including corporate manslaughter, gross negligence manslaughter and what to do when the police come in.
Whilst the involvement of the police is rare in healthcare, when it does happen it needs to be taken seriously. This course will go through the most likely criminal offences that can arise in a healthcare setting, explaining when each one would apply, and tips on what to do when faced with this situation. Occasionally, the police will come into a healthcare setting and demand access to various documents etc. This course will explain the duties you have to assist, and what the police can and cannot do in these situations.

- Awareness of the practical steps you need to take when the police come into the healthcare setting
Open to all in a healthcare setting but primarily of benefit to those who have a managerial or governance role and will be involved in supporting staff, liaising with the police and key decision making in these scenarios.

Kate Fawell-Comley is a senior associate and solicitor-advocate in the London Hill Dickinson Healthcare team. She regularly represents clients at inquests and in the Court of Protection, and also deals with clinical negligence claims. She has experience in all areas of Healthcare law.
