Clinical Audit for Improvement 2023 is now in its 23rd year and brings together clinicians, senior/middle managers and leading local and national clinical audit and improvement experts. Through a series of national updates, practical case studies, extended workshops and debates, this one-day virtual conference will focus on local and national clinical audit and celebrate best practice. Over the last two decades this event has become the ‘must-attend’ annual conference for clinical audit and QI professionals.
“Trusts rated good and outstanding have effective clinical audit processes and ensure that clinical audits are used to drive quality improvements”
“Clinical audit forms the backbone of clinical governance systems in most health service providers today.”
“Audit data can and does continue to drive improvements in our patients’ care.”
The conference this year will focus on the challenges of delivering effective clinical audit at a local level local. All healthcare organisations need to demonstrate that their local clinical audit functions are robust, effective and fit-for-purpose. Local audit projects and programmes should highlight good care, pin-point sub-standard care and serve as an efficient mechanism to deliver changes and improvements. Local teams increasingly need to consider how clinical audit relates to patient safety initiatives and in particular the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. In addition, there is an on-going debate in terms of how local clinical audit teams are resourced and how they work in collaboration with quality improvement specialists.
The programme includes a range of experienced clinical audit and QI professionals who will share their wisdom. We have award winning speakers, speakers who have had their work published, plus speakers with international experience of clinical audit. Local clinical audit is not the sole focus of the day. We have expert speakers who run and evaluate national clinical audit, who take a lead role in patient safety and who utilise a wide range of quality improvement methodologies.
