Follow the conference on Twitter #ArtificialIntelligence
This conference focuses on not the theory but the practical applications that AI is already having across the NHS that are currently supporting clinicians to deliver faster diagnosis, better treatment and improved patient outcomes. The conference aims to learn from practical case studies and support you to understand and overcome the challenges such as clinical engagement, trust, ethical issues, confidentiality and effective governance of AI.
The conference will have a particular focus on training, educating and engaging frontline staff to use AI as part of decision making and clinical reasoning following the Health Education England recent findings:
If patients across the country are to benefit from AI, healthcare workers will need specialised support to use AI safely and effectively as part of clinical reasoning and decision-making. The vast majority of clinicians are unfamiliar with AI technologies and there is a risk that without appropriate training and support, patients will not equally share in the benefits offered by AI.
This conference will enable you to:
Network with colleagues who are interested in the practical application of AI to diagnosis, clinical decision support and better patient treatment and outcomes
Learn from outstanding practice from case studies where AI is already being used to improve patient care
Reflect on national developments and learning
Understand the challenges you will face and identify solutions to ethical, confidentiality, governance and clinical engagement issues
Develop your skills in educating, training and engaging frontline staff in AI
Understand how you can accelerate the use of AI in clinical practice to improve productivity and patient care
Learn from case studies in medical imaging and scanning, diagnosis, clinical decision support, predicting length of stay, improving patient flow, predicting likely tests and address racial and ethical health inequalities
