This conference will focus on implementing the November 2022 NICE guideline & recommendations for improving access to advocacy services. Issues facing staff and patients such as supporting people who lack capacity, supporting patients through the process, and providing training tailored for specific practitioners, will all be covered by this robust body of professionals who resolve these challenges on a regular basis.
Every individual should be provided with ongoing opportunities to participate in decisions that affect them. Patients should be supported to make informed decisions by the provision of clear advice on options from their clinicians.
Good advocacy can help people transform their lives, and ensure that people are truly heard and their rights are respected. The implementation of NICE’s evidence-based guidance would make a major contribution to this.
